Brief Bio
Maria Raposo received the Ph.D. degree in Materials Sciences and Engineering by Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil in 1999 and, since 2000, is professor at Physics Department of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, lecturing Solid State Physics, Surface and Interfaces Technology, Conducting Polymers, Molecular Electronics and Physics of Functional Macromolecular Systems. She is Head of the Functional Molecular Systems group since 2008, whose research interests include electric and optical properties of ultra-thin films of polymers and biomolecules, interfaces and nano-technology, colloids, molecular architectures for electronics, photonics and magnetism, biomimetic membranes and radiation effect in biological systems.

Brief Bio
Orlando Frazão graduated in Physical Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He received his Ph. D. in Physics from University of Porto, Portugal. From 1997 to 1998, he was with the Institute of Telecommunications, Aveiro. Presently, he is an invited Assistant Professor at Dept. Physics and Astronomy of Faculty of Science at University of Porto and he is also a Senior Researcher at Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit, INESC Porto. His present research interests included optical fiber sensors and optical communications. He has more than 300 papers in international journals and conferences. He participated as organized committee of several International conferences.  He has three scientific awards. He is senior member of the SPIE and OSA.

The AOMatSens special session addresses topics related with advances in optical materials sensors and devices covering aspects related with design, processing, characterization and applications. Main suggested target topics include:

PUBLICATIONS

After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on digital support - and submitted for indexation by DBLP, Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, EI and SCOPUS.
